A Thoughtful Pause with Purpose: WCJC Update for 2025–26
West Communities Juneteenth Collaborative is pausing public programming for 2025.
We’re so grateful to our community of partners, neighbors, and supporters who have helped bring the Juneteenth Traveling Museum to life over the past few years. Your enthusiasm and shared commitment to learning and justice have fueled everything we do.
This year, we’re stepping back from public offerings as our founding team tends to some deeply personal life events. One of our core values is honoring the fullness of our lives—and that includes making space for rest, healing, and presence when life calls for it. Our work has always centered humanity, community, and care, and this season is no different.
At the same time, we’re using this pause to thoughtfully build what’s next. In 2026, WCJC intends to launch a new series of educational toolkits and interactive presentations that expand upon the rich historical content of our Traveling Museum. These offerings will be designed for schools, municipalities, and organizations seeking to celebrate Juneteenth with depth, integrity, and impact.
We look forward to reconnecting with you next year—and until then, thank you for walking with us.
With care and solidarity,
The Founders of West Communities Juneteenth Collaborative
